Tomorrow night Miles Johns returns to the cage for XKO 28. We are honored to have Miles as one of our ambassadors as he represents the values of our company so well. I've had the honor to work with Miles a handful of times on his striking, most memorably 2 days after his last fight in which he suffered a broken thumb on his right hand, he came in to work on his jab. He's a true competitor, and has heart for days. Get to know Miles a bit better below:
Miles Johns is a professional mixed martial artist fighting in the 135lb division holding a record of 2 wins and 0 losses and looking to advance that to 3-0 this weekend. Miles says he has been unknowingly preparing to fight his entire life through wrestling. Wrestling taught him hard work and dedication, and gave him that one on one experience. At the time, being a high school state champ was like winning a UFC belt in his mind. After many years of "coming up short" he finally won the Kansas 5a state championship his senior year. He then went on to the collegiate level where he wrestled for one year before taking his first smoker fight. He fell in love immediately. Right away he decided to quit wrestling and purse his new dream of being a UFC champion. His parents and coaches weren't exactly pleased with his decision but he says the past 2 years have been the greatest years of his life due to mma. He has never looked back.
Also a big shout out to a team mate of Miles and another great guy and great fighter, Cameron Couch, who makes his pro debut tomorrow on the same card! All the best gentleman, can't wait to see you do what you do best!
