My name is Michelle Trent and I'm a certified personal trainer, nutrition specialist and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blue belt and competitor! Before finding my way to MMA, I was competitive in CrossFit, Power lifting, and bodybuilding. I competed in figure shows for three years when I decided to take up cardio kickboxing to help me lose Bodyfat! During that time, I was weeks away from a national level figure show and ended up going to a fight with a friend. It was the first time I had seen female fights in real life.
I was instantly drawn to it. The complexity. The intensity.
The following week I signed up to do BJJ and Muay Thai at my local gym. Within two weeks I completely abandoned my previous goal of competing at Nationals to focus on MMA and haven't looked back. It's been a little over 2 years of ups and downs and plenty of set backs, but if something is important to you, you will find a way to make it happen!
Currently, I am in Thailand, not only training for IBJJF Worlds, but also honing my stand up skills so I can really make the transition into MMA when I get home.
